Bizee's Free Months End on a Date. Wisconsin's Report Is Due on a Quarter.

Nobody Should Turn Down Coverage That Costs Nothing

Bizee, which spent most of its life trading as Incfile, folds registered agent service into its formation packages for free. How long the free part lasts depends on the tier you buy: as little as a quarter of a year, as much as all twelve months. If you were forming through Bizee regardless, that window is genuine value and you should take it. There is no asterisk to hunt for and no clawback waiting. For the length of the included term you have a compliant agent and you are not paying for one.

We would rather say that plainly than pretend a free thing is secretly expensive. The problem with the arrangement is not the price of the free part.

You Are Tracking Two Dates Now, Not One

Once the bundled term closes, standalone agent service at Bizee bills $149 a year. That is a published figure, openly stated, and not a trap.

What makes it awkward is that the free window ends on a date nobody wrote down. Owners miss the changeover for exactly the reason the offer works: nothing was billing them, so nothing was reminding them. The first signal is usually a charge on a card, at which point the $149 has already been paid and the year has already started. Whether your term ran three months or twelve is a detail buried in the package you chose eighteen months ago.

The fix is embarrassingly simple. Open the Bizee account, find the date the included agent coverage stops, and put it in whatever calendar actually governs your life. Then decide what happens on that date instead of finding out afterward.

Wisconsin Files by the Quarter, Not the Anniversary

Here is the second date, and Wisconsin builds it differently from almost everywhere else.

Your annual report obligation comes from Wis. Stat. § 183.0210, and the deadline is not your anniversary at all. It is the day the anniversary's quarter runs out. Organize an LLC in February and you file by March 31. Organize in May and it is June 30. August puts you at September 30, November at December 31. Four possible deadlines for the entire state, and yours depends on a date you probably remember as a season rather than a day.

Notice arrives from the department two or three months ahead of the window opening, addressed to your registered office. Which is to say it goes to whoever holds the agent seat rather than to you directly, and that is a decent argument for the seat being occupied by somebody who images mail the day it lands.

The report costs $25 filed online and $40 on paper, the paper version carrying a surcharge of fifteen dollars for the privilege of being paper. Miss the quarter entirely and each delinquent year adds another $25, with continued default eventually putting administrative dissolution on the table. None of that is expensive. All of it is avoidable by knowing which quarter you are in.

Ninety-nine dollars belongs in the low band of published Wisconsin rates, it covers same-day imaging as standard, and there is no free stretch behind it that turns into $149 while you are not looking.

Corp13, Line by Line, With Bizee Coming Off It

When the bundled months end, replacing the agent is a single filing to the Department of Financial Institutions. The form is the statement of change. The department publishes it under the number 13, prints it as Corp13, and lets one document move the agent, the office address, or the two of them together.

What goes on it:

1. Your entity's exact name and its DFI identification number. Both appear on your acceptance record from formation and in the department's public entity search.
2. The incoming registered agent. For our customers this is our Wisconsin entity name, supplied at signup.
3. The registered office street address. Wisconsin requires this to be identical with the agent's own business office, not merely nearby, so the address you enter is ours and comes from us.
4. The agent's email address. Wisconsin puts this on the record deliberately, and it has to be there.
5. Consent from the incoming agent, and a signature. Nobody is appointed here without agreeing to it first.

Then you file. Online through the department's filing system it is $10; printed and mailed it is $25, with optional expedited handling available for another $100 that a routine agent change does not need. Bizee signs nothing and approves nothing, so there is no cooperation to wait on.

Sequence it against the calendar rather than against your patience. Enroll here, submit Form 13 while Bizee is still the agent of record, confirm in the DFI search that our name has replaced theirs, and only then let the Bizee relationship lapse. If your free term is about to expire, start the filing two or three weeks ahead of it, so the record has already changed hands before the vendor's clock reaches the day it starts charging.
